Farm
Our farm in Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture, has been in continuous operation for seven generations since the Bunsei Era of the Edo Period. From September to May, the evergreens bear a variety of citrus fruits. And from May to June, the gently reddish plum trees abundantly bear fruits, softly lowering their branches.
About Ume Plum
In Japanese, the character for ume (梅) is said to be a pictorial representation of a tree that bears many children. The fruit's faint crimson color is reminiscent of a woman. Perhaps the character for ume was created from the sight of the plums bountifully ripening. Hara Farm mainly produces Nanko ume.
